Our Co-founder, Secretary-General, and lead for Friends of Fossil Forests Indonesia Task Force, Puspita Insan Kamil, was honorably invited by Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology and the organizing committee of 2025 International Symposium on Fossil Wood Studies and Protection to talk about her experiences in utilizing the science of Psychology and creative educational approaches for protecting the heritage of Indonesian Fossil Wood.

She delivered an oral presentation titled "Two Decades of Paleobotany in Indonesia: Fossil Wood Discovery, Protection, Outreach, and Opportunities Moving Forward"; with highlighting one of Species Obscura's projects: The Jurassic Yard, both merchandise and exhibition, and its impact to international participants from countries with advanced protection of fossil wood - including China, US, UK, Thailand, and Russia. The event was held in a format of 3-day symposium and followed by 3-day excursions to various renowned fossil museum, in-situ protection area, and geopark in Sichuan Province, China, to learn the best practices for fossil wood heritage preservation.
