Anargha Setiadi
Executive Director
Agha is perennially interested in the conservation and ecology of marine invertebrates and the living environments they inhabit. Previously, he worked on the effects of marine protected areas on endangered reef mollusks in West Bali. In late 2010s however, he became fascinated by the strange, isolated ecosystems of tropical marine lakes, where delicate invertebrates thrive in abundance. As a result of recent field findings, he aims to perform more research on these habitats and collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure their long-term survival and mitigate existing human impacts.
He has liaised and collaborated with diverse stakeholders, from local people to NGOs, international institutions and government staffers. During this time, he has also designed and produced science communication materials for aforementioned communities. These endeavors were made possible by support from The Nature Conservancy, National Geographic Society, and The Rufford Foundation.
